Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter invite the community to an inspiring evening of fellowship, faith, and philanthropy at the annual Celebration of Charity on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilliard Center, 1901 N. Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi.
Inspired by the theme, "Love Our Neighbors. Strengthening Our Community.," the event reflects the organizations' shared commitment to serving those in need and building a stronger, more compassionate Coastal Bend. Guests will celebrate the lasting impact made possible through the generosity of supporters while raising vital funds for programs that provide hope and assistance to thousands of individuals and families each year.
The event will feature The Most Rev. Mario A. Avilés as the honorary speaker. The evening will also include the presentation of the Legacy Medal of Honor, recognizing individuals whose extraordinary commitment to serving others has advanced the mission of Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter.
"Celebration of Charity is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of our neighbors and recognize the lives transformed through compassion, faith, and generosity," said Kathy Pekar, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter. "Every ticket purchased and every sponsorship helps ensure our neighbors facing hunger, homelessness, poverty, and other challenges receive the support they need to build brighter futures."
Tickets start at $200 per person, and the deadline to purchase tickets is September 15. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are also available. Proceeds from the event benefit the life-changing programs and services of Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter, serving vulnerable individuals and families across 12 counties in South Texas.
