Since 2010, First Friday ArtWalk has brought Downtown Corpus Christi to life by celebrating the artists, musicians, businesses, and entrepreneurs who shape our community. What began as a collaboration between local businesses, artists, and music venues has grown into Corpus Christi's longest-running monthly event and one of the region's premier cultural experiences.

Produced by the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD), MusicWalk is an enhanced First Friday ArtWalk experience presented by H-E-B in partnership with Visit Corpus Christi. Now in its fourth year, MusicWalk honors Corpus Christi's designation as an Official Music Friendly Texas Community, transforming Downtown into a vibrant showcase of live music, local art, shopping, dining, and culture. MORE THAN A DESIGNATION

In 2023, Corpus Christi was recognized by the Texas Music Office as an Official Music Friendly Texas Community, joining a select group of communities across Texas committed to supporting musicians, live music venues, festivals, music businesses, and the creative economy.

The Music Friendly Texas program recognizes communities that embrace music as an essential part of their identity and invest in the partnerships that help local artists thrive. By fostering collaboration between musicians, businesses, venues, community organizations, and local leaders, the designation helps strengthen tourism, support small businesses, create jobs, and grow the local economy through music.

MusicWalk is Downtown Corpus Christi's annual celebration of that commitment.
