Downtown Corpus Christi is home to special events and recurring programming that are specifically curated by The Downtown Management District and Community Stakeholders to bring people of all ages together, support local businesses, and create long lasting memories.
On the first Friday of every month, Downtown Corpus Christi comes alive. From 6-10PM, enjoy live music, food trucks serving up South Texas fare, eclectic art found in art galleries and on the streets, and handmade wares featured in various pop-up markets throughout the 12-block footprint.
Mural Fest is a celebration of art, community, and the revitalization of Downtown Corpus Christi. Over the past 3 years, event sponsors, community partners, and the DMD have presented 16 NEW community murals. We strive to bring business owners, local residents, and tourists to the heart of downtown to come together and experience a summer event of creativity, entertainment, and new exciting murals!
It’s beginning to look a lot like everyone’s favorite season in Downtown Corpus Christi! From November through December, holiday lights, parties, musical performances, seasonal specials, décor and more fill downtown’s streets, parks, and businesses with cheer for all to hear. Every week you’ll find something fun and festive for your friends and family to enjoy.

The State of Downtown presents the 2022-2023 Impact Report and features the Downtowner Awards, celebrating key stakeholders and community partners that make a huge impact in Downtown Corpus Christi.
Held on the Corpus Christi bayfront in the Spring, this culturally diverse event grabs the attention of South Texas. It has something for everyone, including a rodeo, a carnival, and two parades. Over 120,000 attendees line the streets each year awaiting the Buc Days Leadership Program scholars on our Buc Days float at the Buc Days Night Parade. The Buccaneer Commission’s mission is promoting tradition and community pride in the Coastal Bend by producing exceptional family entertainment that results in educational scholarships.
A national holiday in Mexico, Dia de los Muertos is a time when deceased friends and family members are remembered, honored and celebrated. Now in its 16th year, the Dia de los Muertos Festival pays tribute to this tradition and has become one of Corpus Christi’s most popular festivals. Goals of the event are to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and South Texas, educate and unite the community, draw tourists and residents to downtown and promote Corpus Christi.
Recurring every Wednesday from 5-8PM at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, the mission of Grow Local South Texas is to grow a healthy local community by improving access to, education about and advocacy for affordable nutrient dense foods. Grow Local South Texas is committed to maintaining a necessary point of food access in the Coastal Bend through the Grow Local Farmers’ Market, connecting local farmers with the community to provide food and essentials, as well as artisanal products from local businesses.
Texas Jazz Festival is the longest, largest free running festival in the world! The Texas Jazz Festival is a free event welcome to all ages. With three stages of live jazz music, incredible food and market vendors! Come experience a Jazz Fest like no other in Texas.
Hosted every St Patrick’s Day by Cassidy’s Irish Pub, this festival has approached its 10 year mark, highlighting all things Irish. With live music, vendors, food trucks, and green beer, it’s sure to be a night of fun and revelry.
A coastal spin on Oktoberfest, Surftober Fest is a celebration rich in German culture and full of Gulf Coast fun! Hosted every year by Executive Surf Club, all proceeds benefit the Texas Surf Conservancy.
