Downtown Corpus Christi

Our Downtown Region
The Marina Arts District is the neighborhood that the Downtown Management District is based on. The District is bounded by Furman Avenue to I-37, and Lower Broadway to the Corpus Christi Marina L and T-Heads. In 2023, the property owners voted to renew the district through 2033. In 2024, DMD led stakeholders through an unprecedented expansion process, which was approved in April 2024 by the City Council, officially expanding DMD's district operation services into Water's Edge District, now branded as South Downtown.

Corpus Christi Downtown Management District

The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD), established in 1993, is a professional municipal district self-governed by a 17-person Board of Directors, and represents property owners and stakeholders within the area bounded by Furman Avenue to I-37, and Lower Broadway to Corpus Christi marina L and T-heads, known as Marina Arts District. Since its inception, CCDMD has facilitated and championed several public and private projects that continue to transform Downtown Corpus Christi. CCDMD is responsible for providing enhanced cleaning, beautification and safety services, developing and improving the district through marketing and promotion of events and businesses, and addressing critical issues that impact the success of the district and greater downtown area.

In 2023, the property owners voted to renew the district and reauthorize the services provided by CCDMD through 2033. In 2024, CCDMD successfully expanded their services into South Downtown, formerly Water’s Edge.
