K Space Contemporary's Summer Mural Arts Program will unveil its newest mural, “Esta cancion es para ti/This Song is for you”, on Thursday, August 6 at 6 p.m. The dedication will take place in front of the mural in El Camino's outdoor garden patio. Light refreshments will be served.

Over six weeks this summer, 51 young artists ages 13–17 painted three vintage billboards celebrating El Camino's Tex-Mex culture, a mariachi trio designed by prominent local muralist and mariachi singer Monica Maria Garcia, and a field of stars beneath the restaurant's awning. The work follows El Camino's own duality of "Day" and "Night": the stars answer the shaded, nocturnal interior, while the trio and surrounding greenery give the garden the feel of an afternoon serenade.

The program was taught by artists Emily Quintanilla and Saffron Williams. This is the 29th mural created by K Space Contemporary's Mural Arts Program.

Last year the program completed "Queen of the Rodeo" at El Camino, highlighting the restaurant's South Texas character. K Space was then invited back to help activate the outdoor garden. With the high foot traffic the Water Street Market Complex draws from both residents and visitors, K Space saw this as a perfect opportunity for a large-scale public art made by local youth.

The 2026 Summer Mural Arts Program was made possible by generous funding from H-E-B, El Camino, Bruce and Belinda Edwards of Axis Tattoo, and Wigout! donors.
