The Harte Research Institute (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites the Coastal Bend Community to join them in celebrating Discovery Channel’s 2026 Shark Week from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at Brewster Street Icehouse Downtown. Learn how to identify different shark species and the science behind shark tagging with the scientists from HRI’s Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation. A special meet-and-greet with the HRI researchers and a shark-tagging demonstration will take place, along with a live Q&A. There will be shark-themed giveaways throughout the night. Admission is free and open to the public.
