Caring for the Community is a mural that was inspired by the support and care provided by Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC). CCMC is a system of hospitals surrounding the Coastal Bend, a large network that strives to provide a range of care and attention the community needs. Their logo, a sand dollar, holds a beautiful and even spiritual significance, and is widely interpreted to mean peace, unity, resilience, and abundance.
Another way the idea of caring is presented is through how the mural is painted. With a collective of local artists that understand and care about the intricacies of our community, they came together from diverse backgrounds, different perspectives, and each left their mark on a building that connects us to history in a way that should be uplifted, cared for, and carried over into future generations.
Cre8ive Culture is a collective of artists, based right here in Corpus Christi, Texas and is led by Jeremy Flores. Their objective as a collective is to partner with community stakeholders to create breathtaking murals that make our city more beautiful. Jeremy Flores has painted dynamic murals across the United States and in countries such as Peru, Costa Rica, and France.
