Downtown Corpus Christi Prepares for First Friday ArtWalk Presented by H-E-B and welcomes Latin Grammy-nominated, Grupo Vidal, delivering the “Vidal Experience” to the downtown audience

Corpus Christi, Texas – As Downtown Corpus Christi prepares for the monthly return of First Friday ArtWalk on Friday, May 1, 2026, the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) reminds the community of the implementation of a traffic control plan in partnership with the City of Corpus Christi. 

Highlights of May First Friday ArtWalk presented by H-E-B include: 

  • Corona Premier Music Stage hosted by CCDMD, will feature an electrifying lineup with opening act Amos Burr and the Stickerburrs—bringing their Texas swing, Cajun fiddling, and country sound—followed by Latin Grammy-nominated Grupo Vidal, delivering their dynamic “Vidal Experience” to downtown audiences; 
  • Downtown Pirate Quest Invites guests of all ages to experience First Friday ArtWalk through an interactive digital adventure. Participants can scan QR codes at locations throughout downtown to collect “treasure,” take part in themed activities like pirate yoga, compete in a pirate costume contest, and earn entries into a community-wide prize drawing—blending the spirit of the beloved Pirate Pub Crawl with expanded family-friendly experiences and participation from retail, restaurants, and local businesses. 
  • Park & Block Parties include Artesian Park, Taylor St. Food Truck Block Party, N. Chaparral St., Starr St. Show Down, La Retama Park, Peoples St., Street Food Alley and S. Chaparral St.; 
  • Business Pop-Up Parties include the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Lomax Street, The Water Street Market, VNP Gallery, K Space Contemporary & BUS; 
  • Art Center of Corpus Christi will host family-friendly fun featuring the debut of Ozman Romero’s Hero and the return of Las Doñas de la Corte’s Court of Majestic Odysseys 2026 Coronation Gowns in celebration of Buc Days. Opening reception will take place from 5:00–7:00 PM. Families can also enjoy KidsWalk Pirate Field Day beginning at 4:00 PM, with free activities including treasure digs, pirate flag making, costume dress-up, and more for all ages; 
  • CCRTA will have a FREE ArtWalk shuttle running throughout the evening; 

Other features include over 200 pop-up vendors, over 25 food trucks, and live entertainment throughout nine blocks and inside 18 participating downtown businesses.
