Full Event Schedule (All Events are Free and Open to the Public)
- Mural Fest Community Kick-Off – Be Part of the Mural.
Saturday, May 30 | 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM | BUS, 702 N Chaparral
The festival begins with the Community Kick-Off—a hands-on, come-as-you-are event where volunteers help paint tiles for “Community Love” by Mural Mosaic. Together, we’ll create a 600-tile mural that will be assembled into a large-scale public artwork in partnership with K Space Contemporary. No experience needed, just stop by, pick up a brush, and paint a tile that will live on in Downtown Corpus Christ. Enjoy music, face painting, caricature artists, photobooth and 20% off B.U.S Tasty Bites while you add your piece to the mural.
This year’s Community Mural is called “Community Love” and reflects the core values of Downtown Corpus Christi—optimistic in message, creative in process, purposeful in impact, collaborative in execution, and inclusive in its invitation to all. Residents of every background and skill level are encouraged to contribute, turning individual expression into a shared visual story that celebrates the strength and beauty of connection. Subtle elements of the American flag woven into the background also honor the nation’s 250th anniversary, grounding the piece in a broader moment of reflection and pride.
"KSpace Mural Arts believes that public art has the power to connect, inspire, and transform our community," said Michelle Smythe, Executive Director of K Space Contemporary and curator of K Space Mural Arts. "Bringing a new mural to Downtown Corpus Christi is more than just adding color to a wall. It's about documenting our city's history, empowering our youth through creative expression, and creating a long-lasting landmark that reflects who we are as a community."
