Downtown Management District Invites the Community to a Spectacular Day of Holiday Festivities
Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) is pleased to invite the Coastal Bend community to the H-E-B Christmas Tree Lighting and the Illuminated Boat Parade presented by the Port of Corpus Christi on Saturday, December 7.
Starting the evening of festivities off, the H-E-B Christmas Tree event at Water’s Edge Park will begin at 4:00PM where families, friends, neighbors and tourists can enjoy live music, vendors, food trucks, and photos with Santa. The ceremony begins at 5:30PM with a special presentation by H-E-B, immediately followed by the official lighting ceremony of the 66-foot tree.
“H-E-B is excited to bring the H-E-B Christmas Tree back to Water’s Edge Park for the 8th year in a row,” says Beth Dattomo, Senior Manager of Public Affairs for H-E-B. “This beloved tradition is a wonderful opportunity for friends and families to come together, celebrate the season, and make lasting memories. We’re proud to partner with the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District to make this event possible and help bring the community closer during this special time of year.”
Event attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.
Following the ceremony, the Illuminated Boat Parade presented by The Port of Corpus Christi sets sail at 7:00PM in the Corpus Christi Marina. The Parade will start at the North end of the Lawrence Street T-Head and will proceed south and loop between the Lawrence Street T-Head and the Coopers Alley L-Head. With a variety of boats, from privately owned boats to government watercrafts and everything in between, the Corpus Christi Bay will be illuminated with thousands of lights and decorations.
“The Port of Corpus Christi is proud to support a tradition that showcases the beauty of our bayfront and the spirit of our community,” said Kent Britton, Chief Executive Officer of the Port of Corpus Christi. “The Illuminated Boat Parade is a celebration of unity, and we are honored to foster an experience that community families look forward to each holiday season.”
Spectators of all ages can view from the seawall while they enjoy food trucks, pop-up vendors and live announcements by local radio personalities. A variety of awards in several categories will be presented that same night.
“The holiday season brings our community together in a meaningful way,” said Arlene Medrano, Executive Director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District. “Seeing families gather around the H-E-B Christmas Tree and along the seawall for the Boat Parade reminds us why Downtown is the heart of Corpus Christi’s holiday celebrations. We’re proud to create a space where memories are made and traditions continue to grow.”
