Mayor Guajardo’s Sparkling Christmas Lights Contest Awards Recognize Downtown Businesses

Corpus Christi, TX — The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) proudly concluded the 2025 Mayor’s Sparkling Christmas Lights Contest powered by the AEP Texas Foundation, celebrating the creativity, dedication, and holiday spirit of 26 downtown businesses that transformed Downtown Corpus Christi into a festive seasonal destination. 

“AEP Texas Foundation is proud to support initiatives like Mayor Guajardo’s Sparkling Christmas Lights Contest that bring the community together and highlight the creativity and commitment of downtown businesses,” said Gricelda Calzada, AEP Texas External Affairs Manager-Corpus Christi. 

The contest ran throughout the holiday season, with the community invited to enjoy the displays and participate in voting. Public voting for the People’s Choice Award remained open through December 31, allowing the community to help select their favorite holiday display. 

2025 Mayor’s Guajardo’s Sparkling Christmas Lights Contest Winners: 

Best Window Display 

2nd Runner-Up: AXIS Tattoo & Body Piercing 

1st Runner-Up: 20/20 Vintage 

Winner: TM Wildflowers Emporium, owned by Terri Moore 

Best Window Paint 

2nd Runner-Up: Impact Marketing 

1st Runner-Up: El Camino – Comida & Bar 

Winner: Water Street Oyster Bar, owned by the Lomax Family 

Best Use of Lights 

2nd Runner-Up: Mully’s Irish 

1st Runner-Up: Harrison’s Landing 

Winner: The Gold Fish Bar, owned by Houston Boswell & Mike Trieber 

People’s Choice Award 

2nd Runner-Up: TM Wildflowers Emporium 

1st Runner-Up: Harrison’s Landing 

Winner: The Bridge Bar, owned by Genevive Cantu 

Holiday Champion 

2nd Runner-Up: The Executive Surf Club 

1st Runner-Up: House of Rock 

Winner: The Bridge Bar, owned by Genevive Cantu 

“Mayor Guajardo’s Sparkling Christmas Light Contest powered by the AEP Texas Foundation celebrates a long-standing downtown holiday tradition while recognizing the businesses that contribute to the vitality and character of downtown throughout the year,” said Arlene Medrano, Executive Director of the Downtown Corpus Christi Management District. 

The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District thanks all participating businesses, partners, and community members who helped make the 2025 Mayor Guajardo’s Sparkling Christmas Lights Contest a memorable celebration of Downtown Corpus Christi’s holiday spirit.
