Downtown Management District Invites the Community Out for a Spectacular Night of Holiday Festivities
Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) is pleased to invite the Coastal Bend community to the H-E-B Christmas Tree Lighting and the Illuminated Boat Parade presented by the Port of Corpus Christi on Saturday, December 7.
Starting the evening of festivities off, the H-E-B Christmas Tree event at Water’s Edge Park will begin at 4:00PM where families, friends, neighbors and tourists can enjoy live music, vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, and photos with Santa. The ceremony begins at 5:30PM with a special presentation by H-E-B, immediately followed by the official lighting ceremony of the 66-foot tree.
“H-E-B is thrilled to have the H-E-B Christmas Tree make its greatly anticipated return to Water’s Edge Park for the 7th consecutive year,” says Beth Dattomo, Senior Manager of Public Affairs for H-E-B “We’re grateful for our partnership with the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District and to provide the opportunity for families and friends to connect, share in the festive cheer, and kick off the holiday season while creating lasting memories to enjoy the holidays.”
Event attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets as well as weather gear in case of light rain.
Following the ceremony, the Illuminated Boat Parade presented by The Port of Corpus Christi sets sail at 7:00PM in the Corpus Christi Marina. The Parade will start at the North end of the Lawrence Street T-Head and will proceed south and loop between the Lawrence Street T-Head and the Coopers Alley L-Head. With a variety of boats, from privately owned boats to government watercrafts and everything in between, the Corpus Christi Bay will be illuminated with thousands of lights and decorations.
“The Port of Corpus Christi is proud to once again sponsor the Illuminated Boat Parade in partnership with the Downtown Management District and the Downtown Corpus Christi Marina,” says Port of Corpus Christi Chief Executive Officer Kent Britton. “It is our hope that families, friends, neighbors, and visitors will create new memories this holiday season with one another right next to our beautiful bayfront home.”
Spectators of all ages can view from the seawall while they enjoy food trucks, pop-up vendors and live announcements by local radio personalities. A variety of awards in several categories will be presented that same night.
“The DMD is extremely grateful for the longstanding partnerships we have with H-E-B and The Port of Corpus Christi.” says Daniela Campos, Communications & Public Relations Coordinator of the CCDMD. “Through their generosity and commitment to our community, we’re able to host fun, safe, family-oriented events for locals and tourists to enjoy with their loved ones.”
All outdoor events are weather permitting.
