First Friday ArtWalk Presented by H-E-B Returns with Road Closuresand Block Parties in March
Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) is excited to announce the highly anticipated return of First Friday ArtWalk road closures and block parties on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 6:00PM-10:00PM. This includes the implementation of a new traffic control plan in partnership with the City of Corpus Christi. This format will continue until November.
Highlights of March First Friday ArtWalk presented by H-E-B include three block party stages presented by Andrew’s Distributing with live music, the grand opening of Community Grocery, and the Peoples Literary Festival takeover which features live poetry readings and book signing opportunities from published authors. Other features include over 130 pop-up vendors, over 25 food trucks, and live entertainment throughout nine blocks and inside 17 participating downtown businesses.
Last year, CCDMD and 15 event co-producers saw over 152,500 visitors during ArtWalk, averaging over 21,600 visits per month. The event featured 17 block parties and stages with an average of 135 vendors and 22 food trucks a month.
“For the past 14 years, ArtWalk presented by H-E-B has been the event where downtown comes alive,” says Alyssa B. Mason, Executive Director of the CCDMD. “We look forward to another great ArtWalk season of partnering with key stakeholders and sponsors to highlight the efforts and talents of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and local creatives.”
For the months of December 2024, January and February 2025, CCDMD adopted a “Winter Format” for First Friday ArtWalk, consisting of no road closures, vendors and food trucks contained to Artesian and La Retama Parks and inside participating businesses as a proactive measure for potential inclement weather.
