The Port of Corpus Christi Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Marks the Start of the Holidays in Downtown Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi, Texas – The Port of Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) are proud to announce the return of the 5th annual Port of Corpus Christi Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. This is the first of several events planned for the CCDMD’s 2024 Holiday Series and will be held during November’s First Friday ArtWalk on Friday, November 1, 2024 in La Retama Park. ArtWalk programming starts at 6:00PM with the ceremony kicking off at 7:00PM.
Through CCDMD and The Port of Corpus Christi’s longstanding partnership, this will be the fifth consecutive year the Port Holiday Tree has been displayed in La Retama Park. The 18-foot tall tree is adorned by nearly 700 lights and an estimated 175 ornaments and will be up throughout November and December. The ornament sky also made its return this year.
“The Port of Corpus Christi is honored to partner with the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District to present the 2024 Port Holiday Tree in Historic La Retama Park,” said Kent Britton, Chief Executive Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi. “The holidays are a time for bringing our community and loved ones together for celebration and reflection. The Port of Corpus Christi is grateful for the opportunity to provide a place for families to create long lasting and cherished memories.”
“We sincerely appreciate the Port of Corpus Christi and our continued partnership with them,” says Daniela Campos, Communications & Public Relations Coordinator of the CCDMD. “It’s a privilege to display the Port Holiday Tree for the fifth year in a row which has become an iconic installation for the Downtown Corpus Christi Holiday Series.”
