Temporary Road Closures during MusicWalk on October 4, 2024
Several streets will be temporarily closed to traffic on Friday, October 4, 2024, with closure procedures starting at 11:30am and in place by 2:00pm and will reopen after 11:30pm due to MusicWalk, a First Friday ArtWalk takeover.
In addition, traffic flow through Mesquite Street will be restricted from Taylor Street to Schatzell Street and a police unit will be stationed on the intersection of Taylor and Mesquite Streets to redirect traffic either left (East) on Taylor towards Water Street or right (West) on Taylor towards Upper Broadway. Furthermore, police units will be stationed at several intersections that are as follows:
- Taylor and Antelope Streets to maximize traffic flow westbound on Taylor and Antelope Streets
- Antelope and Buffalo Streets to maximize traffic flow westbound on Taylor and Antelope Streets
- Upper Broadway and Antelope Street to maximize traffic flow southbound on Upper Broadway
- Upper Broadway and Leopard Street to maximize traffic flow southbound on Upper Broadway
- Taylor and Chaparral Streets, blocking traffic from traveling westbound on Taylor Street beyond Chaparral Street and maximizing traffic flow eastbound on Taylor Street towards Water Street
- Taylor and Water Streets to clear eastbound Taylor Street traffic
- Taylor Street and Shoreline Blvd to clear eastbound Taylor Street traffic
Typical street closures remain unchanged and are as follows:
- Chaparral Street will be closed from Taylor Street to John Sartain Street with Lawrence and Schatzell Streets remaining open for drive-through traffic
- Lomax Street will be closed from Mesquite Street to Water Street
- Peoples Street will be closed from Lower Broadway to Water Street
- Starr Street will be closed from Lower Broadway to Water Street
Attached below is the map detailing road closures and event footprint in which vehicles are susceptible for towing. Please note there will be a No Parking Plan in effect, in which No Parking signs will be posted within the road closure boundaries on Thursday, October 3, at 2:00pm. Towing will be enforced on Friday, October 4, beginning at 2:00pm.
