The Port of Corpus Christi Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Marks the Start of the Holidays in Downtown Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi, Texas – The Port of Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) are proud to announce the return of the 6th annual Port of Corpus Christi Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. This is the first of several events planned for the CCDMD’s 2025 Holiday Series and will be held during November’s First Friday ArtWalk on Friday, November 7, 2025 in Artesian Park. ArtWalk programming starts at 6:00PM with the lighting ceremony kicking off at 7:00PM.
Through CCDMD and the Port of Corpus Christi’s longstanding partnership, this year will mark the first year that the Port Holiday Tree has been displayed in Artesian Park. The 18-foot tall tree is adorned by nearly 700 lights and an estimated 175 ornaments and will be up throughout November and December.
“The Port of Corpus Christi is proud to partner with the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District to bring the 2025 Port Holiday Tree to life in the historic Artesian Park,” said Kent Britton, Chief Executive Officer of the Port of Corpus Christi. “The holiday season is a time to embrace unity, gratitude and joy — and we are honored to help provide a place that nurtures those values as families make lasting memories together.”
“We’re truly grateful for our ongoing partnership with the Port of Corpus Christi,” says Arlene Medrano, Executive Director of the CCDMD. “Showcasing the Port Holiday Tree for the sixth consecutive year is a privilege — it’s become a beloved tradition and a signature highlight of the Downtown Corpus Christi Holiday Series.”
More information about CCDMD’s Holiday Series events to be announced in the upcoming weeks. All outdoor events are weather permitting.
