Meet the 2026 Muralists

Anna Charney

Charney is a painter and muralist of abstract and illusionistic pattern works that explore the intersection of organic and geometric form. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting/drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has been living and working back in her hometown of Denver, Colorado since 2016. Her contemporary practice ranges from smaller acrylic works on canvas, to large-scale exterior murals that transform architectural surfaces into dynamic environments. Charney’s paintings and murals are inspired by mathematical patterns found in nature, and characterized by their illusionistic spaces, vibrancy, and dense layering of detail. She has exhibited in galleries and painted murals across a dozen of the United States and internationally in Costa Rica, France, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

DBSTUDIO is a collaborative team featuring artists Daisuke Okamoto and Brenda
Cibrian specializing in vibrant and intricate artwork, including murals, chalk art,
original paintings, and digital illustrations. We have created murals in various locations,
such as storefronts, restaurants, residences, festivals, and corporate offices, across
multiple states and internationally. Working collaboratively allows us to combine our
individual strengths and perspectives. Our goal through this process is to create
engaging pieces that celebrate culture, communities, identity and the human
connection through intricate linework.

Individual Artist Bios

DAISUKE OKAMOTO
Daisuke's work, "OKAINA IMAGE," is a complex and detailed system of ink line drawings
that explore identity and transformation. It delves into the cycle of life through
biomorphic narratives rooted in organic forms. In 2022, I partnered with Microsoft to
create a mural for their ad campaign, using the Microsoft Surface Pro 8. I have also
collaborated on projects with PBS KCET in Southern California.

BRENDA CIBRIAN
Brenda Cibrian is an artist and muralist based in Los Angeles. Her work centers around
nostalgic and introspective themes often showcasing nature, people, animals and
playful graphical elements paired with harmonious color stories. As a multidisciplinary
visual artist, her mediums include murals, original paintings, illustration and graphic
design. Brenda has collaborated with PBS SoCal, Los Angeles Times, local businesses
and has worked on murals in California, Portland, Utah, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan,

Megan Oldhues

Megan Oldhues (b. 1997) is a Toronto (Canada)-based muralist specializing in large-scale figurative and representational work. She began painting at scale in 2015 through Toronto’s graffiti scene, where she developed a fast, instinctive approach that continues to inform her practice.

Working in acrylic and drawing from her own photography, Megan creates impressionistic, textured murals that transform everyday moments into evocative scenes. Her current work focuses on loose movement, layered mark-making, and the quiet beauty of daily life,  highlighting intimacy, human connection, and the resonance of both forgotten and familiar spaces.
