*The building on which the mural was painted has since been torn down in place of the construction of the Homewood Suites Hotel, but will remain forever painted on the hearts of Downtown Corpus Christi.

Jason resides in Jacksonville, Florida where he is a professional artist and muralist.  He often hosts unique, quirky art shows that showcase his seasonal artwork, and he even gets his event guests to do fun games and activities to win his artwork!  Jason Tetlak was hosted by 20/20 Vintage, one of our Mural Fest 2022 hospitality sponsors, and was the first to complete his Corpus Christi mural.

To the naked eye, this image is filled with unique, bright-colored shapes and lines that spell out: “Corpus Christi”.  But when viewed through a red lens, a hidden message is revealed and reads: “Fair is Fair.”

This phrase comes from the film “The Legend of Billie Jean”, a kids-vs.-adults cult movie classic from 1985 that was shot entirely during the golden, mid-1980s era in Corpus Christi, Texas. The story revolves around an average Texan teen, Billie Jean Davy, played by actress Helen Slater, who is caught up in an odd fight for justice. Her fight for “FAIR IS FAIR” takes the teen around the state and produces an unlikely hero.
