Press Release: Mayor’s Merriest Décor Contest Winners Announced During the First City Council Meeting of the Year

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) is thrilled to announce the eight lucky winners of the annual Mayor’s Merriest Décor Contest powered by American Electric Power (AEP) Foundation on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00AM, during the first City Council Meeting of the year. The meeting will be held in the CCRTA boardroom located at 602 N. Staples St., Corpus Christi, TX 78401.

With a record breaking 37 participating businesses, a panel of VIP guest judges took to the downtown streets December 1, 2023, during the First Friday ArtWalk and cast their votes for six categories: Best Exteriors, Best Use of Lights, Best Window: Display, Best Window: Décor (Paint), and the Holiday Champion. The public was also encouraged to vote all throughout the month of December for the People’s Choice: Interior and the People’s Choice: Exterior categories through Downtown Corpus Christi’s social media accounts.

The winners are as follows:

  • Best Exteriors - Rockit’s Whiskey Bar & Saloon
  • Best Use of Lights - The Gold Fish
  • TIE: Best Window: Display – Taylor Cravey Photography
  • TIE: Best Window: Display – Wildflowers
  • Best Window: Décor (Paint) – Central Kitchen
  • People’s Choice: Best Exterior – Dokyo Dauntaun
  • People’s Choice: Best Interior – The Bridge Bar
  • Holiday Champion – The Ritz Theatre
